Process

Acquiring a domain from us is pretty simple and usually takes about a week. Once you’ve confirmed that you’d like to proceed, we’ll email you a simple contract that protects both parties. Send it back with your signature and transfer details, and we’ll initiate the sales process through Escrow.com, which keeps your funds secure till you’ve confirmed receipt of the domain. Here are the specific steps:

1. Conduct a trademark evaluation

Your first step is to consult with a trademark attorney (we can refer you to some excellent ones) to confirm that you are clear to use the mark. Names in The Catchword Accelerator have not been screened for availability as trademarks for the simple reason that a domain is not the same thing as a trademark; each name can be trademarked in a variety of classes, for different goods and services. As such, it’s on you to confirm you’ll be legally able to use the mark.

2. Review and sign our purchase contract

We’ll respond to your email within 24-48 hours, and will send you our domain-purchase contract for review and signature. After we have a mutually signed contract we can begin the secure payment and transfer process via Escrow.com.

3. Make your payment to Escrow.com

To protect both parties, we’ll use the third-party online escrow site Escrow.com. We’ll initiate the transaction, and then you'll submit your payment, using easy-to-follow steps. It's a simple digital payment. If you have any questions, we’ll be standing by to help.

4. Initiate the domain transfer

After we are notified of your payment to Escrow.com, we'll send you simple instructions that allow us to transfer the domain to you, including the authentication code for the domain. You’ll need this code so you can initiate the domain transfer with your registrar. We cannot do this step for you. Once we both approve the transfer, it will take a few days for you to receive the domain. When you have the domain, confirm receipt with Escrow.com—and now it's time to pop open the champagne!
